It is a tradition of Australia to issue new stamps on the occasion of Stamp Collecting Month. In the year of 2014 Australia Post issued a set of six stamps featuring Australia’s most feared wild life.

Australia has lots of insects and animals that sting or bite as a way to defend themselves from predators or harm. This stamp issue features six creatures that can give a lethal sting when threatened.

These 70 cents stamps depict the images of these creatures in their natural habitat. They include: Stone Fish, Lion Fish, Tiger Snake, European Wasps, Bull Ant and Sting Ray.
